The Hall
This project began many years ago with a vision: to own and manage a facility our wonderful Parish could be proud of — one that would inspire us all to use the hall, bring the community together, and support the health and wellbeing of everyone who uses it.
It has been made possible by the tireless work of the Parish Council and the Marden Village Trust, and now the Marden Parish Trust, together with the very generous donation of land by the Price family (The Dudley Price Discretionary Settlement) as part of the Cherry Orchard development. The project was funded by a Public Works Loan taken out by the Parish Council on behalf of the Parish, and a long term management lease.
We give our grateful thanks to the parish residents for their commitment and support in taking on the loan, and to the Parish Council and the volunteer Hall Management Committee for their continued hard work and the time they have given, which has brought this project to where we are today — opening a brand new, state-of-the-art hall in September 2026.
The land and building will be owned solely by the Parish Council and leased to the Marden Parish Trust, allowing the hall to be available seven days a week, 365 days a year for our community, free from the strict safeguarding restrictions that currently apply to a building shared with children.

The Main Hall

The hall has a versatile layout with two generous sized meeting rooms separated by sliding acoustic doors that can be fully opened combining both rooms into one large space. The thoughtfully designed modern new hall has a clean, fresh and airy feel, with high ceilings and lots of great light, provided by glass doors that open out onto a large full length covered veranda and the village green beyond.
Hire of the hall comes with or without use of the tables and chairs, which can stay neatly hidden in the store cupboard if not required. We have state of the art audio visual equipment and superfast broadband
The Lobby cafe area
In addition to the main meeting rooms we will be able to use the lobby area which is set up cafe style with tables chairs and lounge seating. There will be a wall mounted television for use. We anticipate that the cafe lobby area will be the venue for our proposed village bar and the current Marden links parish hub

The Outside Space & Village Green

Currently there are 15 car park spaces, 4 of which are allocated for disabled visitors. There is further parking available at the adjacent Marden academy and recreation ground. Once the temporary entrance is removed the car park will be completed and have 19 spaces, including the 4 retained disabled spaces
The front of the building is attractively landscaped, with raised beds planted with perennial plants and shrubs. The village green will be completed in late 2027 and fully landscaped, with a grassed area and many ornamental and native trees, shrubs and hedging. It will be a truly beautiful space.
